How times have changed! I can remember a time when there were just a very small number of school-related organizations known as parent-teacher associations, or PTAs, that informally dealt with school issues of the day.

Taking small steps can lead to big safety returns:

February 20, 2019: A former chief financial officer pleaded guilty to 20 federal counts of embezzlement, wire fraud, and money laundering over a 16-year period after stealing $1.2 million from his former employer. This CFO oversaw all of the employer’s finances, including a nearly $260 million general fund, and misspent $46 million of the fund balance.

Over six weeks, the vandals kept coming, knocking the school system’s network offline several times a day.

There was no breach of sensitive data files, but the attacks in which somebody deliberately overwhelmed the Avon Public Schools system
